Lewis Hamilton took his 75th career victory today at the Chinese Grand Prix.

Valtteri Bottas finished second completing the third consecutive 1-2 for the Mercedes team in 2019.

Track temperature played a big role in todays race as Max Verstappen and Robert Kubicia spun on the opening lap as they tried to get there tyres up to temperature.

The track temperature was 10 degrees cooler than yesterdays qualifying session.

Lewis made an excellent start, out driving Pole sitter Valtteri Bottas.

Both Mclarens were hit by Kvyat in his Toro Rosso causing the virtual safety car to be deployed.

The Ferrari team again seem to be all over the place in terms of race strategy, with team orders in play for Leclerc to move over for Vettel .

After all the weekend celebrations the 1000th Grand Prix provided some good racing action, but clearly now Ferrari have a lot of work to do in the long race pace, cooling issues don't  seem to  sorted and they are nursing a car with several issues.

Red Bull have clearly made big steps forward with Verstappen finishing 4th and Gasly finishing 6th  they will clearly push Ferrari all season and if Ferrari don't re group it will be a Mercedes and Red Bull fight in 2019
