Australia Max Verstappen landed Honda its first podium in 11 years, with an engine manufacture that dominated the sport in the 80’s, its hard to believe they are not on top where they belong.

Mclaren used Honda Engines from 2015 till the end of the 2017 season, a 3 year stint and they failed to deliver what now Red Bull is reaping the rewards.

Many people acknowledge that Mclaren lost there way with the development of the car and blamed Honda for all its failures .

The Red Bull team is a very different beast to Mclaren they are a well polished  team and understand things in a better chronological order than Mclaren .

A small insight from Honda this morning confirmed that working with two teams Scuderia Toro Rosso and Aston Martin Red Bull Racing helps as they gather double the amount of data from the power units and therefore can be assessed more accurately as they have 4 power units on the same track to analyse data.

I asked Honda “if Red Bull had a big influence on the development of the Power Units “

Honda was very clear that Honda only sets the pace for the development and introduction of changes and updates, whilst I find this is how Honda traditionally works I cant help think that Christian Horner will be having his own agenda for changes if Aston Martin Red Bull racing gets in a position for the constructors Championship.
