AUSTRALIA: Always very special to travel to Australia at beginning of the year, when the energy level is so high. Everybody is in a good mood. The fans are amazing. They invented the walk of honor, when all the fans are waiting for the drivers to make some pictures or to sign stuff. This is great. The fans are so close to the drivers, this is great for F1 and the fans.
BAHRAIN: Loving this track, the architecture is great. It’s a great flow of corners. It´s also in the dark and they put millions of lights next to the track. That makes it very special. I had some great battles with Lewis and will never forget my win in 2016.
MONACO: I grew up with hearing the noise of Senna´s car coming out of the tunnel. The track is the most special on the calendar. It´s very demanding, because you need to nail the set up and need to find your rhythm already in session one. Risk management is very difficult. I won three times in a row, that is unbelievable. Celebrating with all the family members and friends very so special. The parties very legendary. If you have to chance, to watch the race from a board, this is a great experience. I had this last year and I really enjoyed to watch the action from that angle.
MEXICO: The best podium of the year. You are in the middle of a baseball stadium with 45.000 crazy spectators making the Mexican wave. I am so lucky to have experienced this with my win in the premier year in 2015. The Mexicans are such a great crowd, they were so nice to me, I like them very much.
ABU DHABI: This track will be always in my heart as I won my World Championship title here. Especially with all the bad feelings about my DNF in the last race in 2014 made this win so special. In the race its very special that we start in the twilight and they switch on the lights and you have to change your vizor at the helmet. It´s also amazing to see that there are a lot parties going on. At this time in November a lot people are flying into the desert, to have some warmer days. It’s a great atmosphere.
